The main causes of endometriosis

Endometriosis is the least studied gynecologicaldisease. Since its inception, several theories have emerged that provoke its development. None of them fully and completely failed and was not proven. Therefore, the causes of the onset of endometriosis have not been thoroughly studied.

Most of the specialists whostudies in this area, believe that all violations are due to glitches in the hormonal background of a woman, in particular, everything depends on the level of estrogens. These hormones are responsible for the development of sexual characteristics in the female body. If they are synthesized too much, the uterus grows and enlarges. Endometriosis, the causes of which, according to experts, depend on this factor, it is necessary to treat immediately after detection. Otherwise, development of infertility or more serious diseases is not ruled out.

There are also a number of certain side effects that somehow can act as the cause of the onset of endometriosis. Here are some of them:

1. Metaplasia, that is, the degeneration of one type of normal tissue into another. There is an assumption that the endometrioid tissue can degenerate into another when it is outside the uterus.
2. Retrograde menstruation. An explanation for such a cause of endometriosis was put forward in 1920. The essence of it is that menstrual tissue after the release falls into the fallopian tubes and enters the pelvic area. After this, it settles and germinates. Subsequently, it was proved that a similar process of so-called retrograde menstruation is characteristic of almost 90% of women. Therefore, scientists excluded this factor from the category of "causes of endometriosis," arguing that not everyone who is notable for such a feature has a development of the disease.
3. Genetic predisposition. It turns out that relatives of the first degree are at greater risk of developing the disease than all the others. And, if there is still a so-called hereditary predisposition, endometriosis in this case is even more difficult.
4. Failures in the work of the immune system. It turns out that in women who have endometriosis of the uterus, the causes of the occurrence can also be covered in this violation. However, for today there is no real evidence of the validity of the existence of this theory.
5. Ecological factor. According to the results of certain studies, there are some environmental aspects that can cause the development of the disease. So, they have a toxic effect on the synthesis of sex hormones and the work of the immune system as a whole. However, the expediency of the existence of this theory is also controversial.

Among other things, the causes of developmentdiseases can also be considered the presence of excessive body weight, inflammatory processes in the genital area, as well as the negative impact of alcohol, tobacco and drugs.
