Goalkeeper Koshechkin Vasily: biography and achievements

Vasily Koshechkin is a goalkeeper whofor many years playing in the KHL. Thanks to his work, he became one of the most titled goalkeepers in the history of Russian hockey. For a large contribution to the success of the national team at international competitions Koshechkin was awarded the gratitude of the President of the Russian Federation.

The first steps in sports

Goalkeeper Koshechkin was born on March 27, 1883 inTolyatti. From an early age, the parents gave young Vasily to the local hockey section. He started his professional career quite early. In 2002, he moved to the Kirov-Chepetsk "Olympia", which performs in the Higher Hockey League. It was in this team that Vasily first learned what "adult" hockey is. For ten games played, he missed fourteen goals. After the first half of the season, this goalkeeper moved to Almetyevsky "Neftyanik". The statistics of the missed goals for Vasily in this team was worse. However, his game was highly appreciated by coaches and fans of the team.

Debut in the Super League

Since 2003 goalkeeper Koshechkin began to speak fornative club "Lada". For the Togliatti team, he played until 2007. With the native club this player several times was close to the victories in the prestigious tournaments, but never failed to win. For 5 seasons, held in Togliatti "Lada", goalkeeper Koshechkin from a young and talented sportsman turned into a star of Russian hockey. Many coaches wanted to see this reliable goalkeeper in their team.

In the 2007-2008 season, Vasily became a playerthe Kazan "Ak Bars". This club has a large list of victories. Goalkeeper Koshechkin was to help the team once again win the regular season. But in the Kazan team Koshechkin could not open. This goalkeeper began to make a lot of mistakes and therefore lost his place in the lineup. At the end of the season, he again returned to Togliatti team.

Continuation of career

Back in Togliatti team, Koshechkinagain began to show the game a high level. Season 2009-2010 he started in the team "Lada", but during the regular season moved to Magnitogorsk "Metallurg". In the summer of 2010 it became known that Koshechkin signed a one-season contract with the Severstal team. Season 2010-2011 was a very successful for him. At the end of the championship, he was recognized by the fans as the best player of the season. The contract with Vasily was extended by mutual desire for two more years.

Return to Metallurg Magnitogorsk

At the end of the contract,signed with Cherepovets Severstal, Vasily Koshechkin returned to Metallurg Magnitogorsk. With this club the contract was signed for 4 years. Together with this team, Koshechkin twice won the Gagarin Cup. A great game this goalkeeper has repeatedly noted hockey experts. Vasily made a big contribution to the success of the Magnitogorsk team.

International career

Goalkeeper Vasily Koshechkin for many yearsshows a reliable game. Therefore it is not surprising that he participated five times in the World Championship. In the piggy bank of this goalkeeper there are all kinds of awards of the world championship. At the home championship in 2007, he, along with the team was content with a bronze medal. Two years later, the Russian team won the tournament. Vasily made a big contribution to the success of the team. It was after this championship that Koshechkin was awarded a state award. At the World Cup, which took place in 2010, Koshechkin in the national team won silver. At the Olympics this goalkeeper was not in the Russian team.
