Environmental management at the enterprise is a regular activity designed to reduce the impact of the company on the environment.

In addition, the functions of environmental management are the justification of the specific environmental policy of the enterprise and the assessment of the results of its environmental activities. In addition, the objectives of environmental management of a particular enterprise include the analysis of the environmental consequences of production, ensuring the improvement of modern technologies in production in terms of reducing its accident rate, technological risk, energy intensity and material consumption, toxicity and quantity of waste and emissions.

In addition, environmental management isoptimization of the work of production facilities, whether agrotechnical, agrarian, energy, transport or technical enterprises in the given region (town, city). The task of environmental management also includes the ecologization of production, consisting in the effective use of waste from one enterprise as a resource for other industries.

Efficiency of environmental managementcan be estimated by the level of optimization of district planning to reduce the harmful impact of production facilities on the population of the region, as well as measures for the timely rehabilitation of the population from these impacts.

Environmental management should also introducecertain restrictions on the construction and operation of potentially hazardous industries that may have a negative impact on the nature and health of the population.
